Parents were David Michael (first mate on a ship trading with Newport) and Martha Williams (daughter of a (deceased) mariner) who married quite late in life.

Worked for Post Office as a clerk.

He married Beatrice Matilda Davies (Tilly) (daughter of a farmer) in 1909 in Cardigan. She was welsh-speaking.
After marriage they lived in York Place next door to his parents.

Moved to Glasllwch Road - house bombed 30/31-5-1941 during WWII - he was in hallway with ARP helmet on: suffered hearing loss (wife Tilly under dining room table was OK). more
House was not rebuilt - gap was used for the M4.
