Reflecting on Sustainability Week 2024
Sustainability Week 2024 came to a close earlier this month, and today we are reflecting on some of the highlights from the week. From new initiatives to insightful discussions and practical workshops, this annual event has once again demonstrated the power of collective action in addressing the social, economic and environmental challenges.

Contributor series: Student Circular Economy Project
The UoL Circular Economy Project team are a group of University of Liverpool mechanical and design engineering students working collaboratively to implement a circular economy on campus, starting with the recycling and repurposing of single use plastic bottles. International Day for Biological Diversity: Building Back Biodiversity
The 22nd May 2023 marks the 22nd annual International Day of Biodiversity, a globally recognised day to raise awareness of biodiversity issues. Promoted by the United Nations, it aims to promote innovative solutions to the biodiversity crisis and bring these to the forefront of global conversations on sustainable development.

Have your say on travel and transport at the University - complete our annual travel survey
Annual travel surveys are being launched for the first time since the pandemic, to help us gather information on staff and student travel habits, including how people travel to and from the University, how often they travel and what modes of transport they use. The surveys will also seek opinions on sustainable travel schemes and initiatives.

Meet your Guild Sustainability Champion: Hana Sanadi
Hana Sanadi is the 2022 Guild Sustainability Champion, an award given to a student who ‘embodies the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through their activity’ and ‘makes an outstanding contribution to sustainability on campus and beyond’.

Sustainability in Action - educating future generations
Sustainability in Action is a course in Canvas which explores the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). It is designed to provide students with knowledge on this important aspect of sustainability and how they can apply it to their own life.
