Research
Strategic procurement
Jo's research has two complementary themes: the strategic impacts of sustainable procurement on diverse stakeholders, and the supply chain conflicts and constraints arising when balancing equity and economic benefit. These themes reflect an interdisciplinary, practice-orientated approach underpinned with scholarly research. Legitimacy and the role of public policy are core aspects of the research.
The research covers the role of procurement in a range of sectors. Recent research is set in public and third sectors and explores social value and commercialisation. The use of Critical Action Research is a key feature of the research.
Key themes: Dynamics of B2B relationships (power, value, risk), modern slavery, sustainable procurement, critical action research, strategic issues in the social housing sector
