Short Biography

I am a Consultant Clinical Scientist at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, an Honorary Professor at the Universities of Liverpool and Manchester and a Visiting Professor at the University of Passo Fundo, Brazil.

I am a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) and  Fellow of the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS).

I am a former Vice President of Engineering and a former Director of the IPEM. I am a national assessor at the Association of Clinical Scientists and lead assessor at the National School for Healthcare Scientists.

My main research interests are mathematical and statistical modelling and the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in medicine. To date I have published more than 75 peer-reviewed articles and edited 2 books.
