Professional Activities

Until my appointment as a lecturer at the University of Liverpool, I acted as an expert consultant for the Council of Europe (1999-2006), engaging with education ministers, teachers and European policy makers on several educational projects involving the countries of south eastern Europe. These activities were intended to foster a closer engagement with shared histories.

In 2004 I edited a book that emerged from one of these projects: 'The Black Sea - a history', published in Norway by Gyldendal. It was received enthusiastically by European education ministers at the time.
