About
I am the Dean of the School of Biosciences at the University of Liverpool.
After my PhD in Animal Physiology at the Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf I spent four years working as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany. In 2001 I joined the University of Liverpool where I teach in the area of Zoology and Animal Physiology. I have a keen interest in educational research and I have published in the areas of student engagement, assessment and feedback. I hold a Postgraduate Masters in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, and I am a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a National Teaching Fellow.
