I completed my PhD at the University of Birmingham, UK investigating calcium regulation in the heart and then moved on to a post-doctoral fellowship at the Banting and Best Department of Medical Research in Toronto, Canada. I continued as a research fellowship at the University of Toronto in Cardiovascular Physiology. In 2014, I returned to the UK to take a Lectureship at the University of Liverpool. I am currently a member of the Department of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine in addition to being a member of the Liverpool Centre for Cardiovascular Science (LCCS) and I continue to research cardiac and liver pharmacology, physiology, drug-induced injury, and pathophysiology.
