Research
My research interest concerns understanding how men utilize impression management tactics as a means to navigate the contrasting ideals associated with their work and family roles. I consider these actions from a social constructionism perspective to understand how men’s social worlds are constructed in such a way that the norms associated with what it means to be a good father and a good worker might challenge autonomy. I utilize this research to help advance our understanding of how we might better manageme flexible working arrangements and paternity and maternity leave initiatives having previously worked with several international consultancy firms to offer advice and guidance on these matters.
