MRes in Musculoskeletal Ageing

CIMA MRes in Musculoskeletal Ageing This unique full-time, 12-month programme provides multidisciplinary research training on the musculoskeletal system as a whole in the context of ageing. The training has a strong focus on employability and topics range from basic science to clinical aspects, from in vitro to in vivo models, and from the latest advances in the assessment of the musculoskeletal system to lifestyle interventions. The programme is a collaborative, blended-learning, experience. It employs active learning and authentic assessment CIMA MRes in Musculoskeletal Ageinge.g. mock MRC grant proposals, to develop research and employability skills. MOOC - The Musculoskeletal System: The Science of Staying Active into Old Age

MOOC - The Musculoskeletal System: The Science of Staying Active into Old Age This highly successful MOOC helps patients, carers and the general public understand why small lifestyle changes can have big impacts on musculoskeletal health and quality of life. In runs twice a year and has attracted 1000s of learners worldwide.

Undergraduate Employability Skills

I am a Senior Fellow of the HEA and have a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in HE . As a consequence of my interest in learning I have been involved in developing innovative approaches to learning and especially active-learning and employability skills. I developed a highly praised skills module and was invited to speak about this novel Key Skills Tutorial Program at the Recording Achievement and Key Skills, Sharing the Learning: Connecting Quality, Practice and Policy. CVCP Conference, London, May 2000. I am currently involved in developing and updating this module to meet advances in elearning and current employer requirements.
