About
I am currently a Senior Lecturer and the Director of Teaching Quality (DTQ) in the School of Environmental Sciences. I am an active researcher and expert advisor, focused on developing and applying policy-relevant assessments that help guide decision makers on how to manage and conserve marine ecosystems and their natural capital. I have developed a range of assessment approaches, all broadly based on the principles of the ecosystem approach, focused around the interactions between nature and humans and how policy-driven decision-making affects this. I have secured funding for 16 projects generating research income of £1.7 million to the University (£>35 million overall) and managing PhD students, postdoctoral research scientists and project administrators.
