About
I am currently a Tenure Track Fellow and qualified Orthoptist. I started working for the University of Liverpool as a Research Assistant in 2014 and completed a Stroke Association Post-Doctoral Fellowship in 2023.
I am the interim research director for the British and Irish Orthoptic Society and a member of the Secretary of State for Transport's Honorary Medical Advisory Panel on driving and visual disorders.
My particular research interests include stroke, acquired brain injury and quality of life measurement. I would keen to supervise PhD students on these topic areas when linked to visual impairment.
I am currently the Chief Investigator for the Organisation of Sight Services for Brain Injury (OSSBI) study, Oxford Cognitive Screen Visual Impairment adaptation study and the Impact of Visual Impairment after Stroke II (IVIS II) study. Most recent research projects I have been involved in include Impact of Visual Impairment after Stroke (IVIS) study and as principal investigator for the Paramedic Vision Evaluation (PAVE) study and the Visual Impairment Screening Assessment (VISA) study. I am involved in international collaborations including the European Stroke Organisation (ESO) Vision guideline development and the Norwegian Vision In Stroke (NorVIS) network.
