About
In November 2021 I was honoured to start as an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer at the Harris-Wellbeing Research Centre, University of Liverpool. Within this role half of my time is spent in research activity, and half as an obstetrics and gynaecology ST7 doctor.
My primary research interest is prediction, prevention, and optimisation of women and infants at risk or experiencing preterm birth. As part of this I have two active projects, the first is addressing pregnancy outcomes after preterm prelabour rupture of membranes (PPROM) before 23 weeks' of pregnancy. The second project is investigating the interaction between vaginal bacteria, yeasts and preterm birth. Finally, women and infants need healthy staff to care for them during their pregnancy journey and I am working with the RCOG to implement a good practice paper about prevention and treatment of work related post traumatic stress symptoms in the maternity and gynaecology workforce.
