About
I joined the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of Liverpool, U.K., in September 2018 as a Lecturer in Physical Geography, having graduated from the University of Liverpool with a BSc. in Geography (2009) and subsequently a Ph.D. entitled 'Hazard responses in the pre-industrial era: vulnerability and resilience of traditional societies to volcanic disasters' (2013). On completing my Ph.D. I undertook a one-year fixed term post as Lecturer in Physical Geography at Edge Hill University, U.K., before re-joining the Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Liverpool in 2014 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Environmental Geography working with Drs Hugh Smith, Mark Riley, John Boyle and Professor Richard Chiverrell on their Leverhulme Trust funded project on 'Agricultural change in Britain: modelling past impacts to predict the future'.
Research interests include:
• Geohazards (and their effects on societies and responses to them)
• Environmental Reconstruction and Human-Induced Landscape Change
• Environmental History and Management
