Teaching
Most of my undergraduate teaching and academic-advisor work is now for the School of Medicine. My postgraduate contributions are in MRes Clinical Sciences and MSc programmes in the School of Medicine and Medical Physics.
Undergraduate Medicine and Surgery (MBChB)
My main undergraduate teaching is on the MBChB programme in the School of Medicine. I am an Academic Advisor, I lecture to Year 1: 'Making Life Possible IV: Homeostasis'. I contribute across Years 1-4 to the Research & Scholarship strand, and to clinical and written examinations at all levels. I also contribute to the Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) Medical Admissions Interviews
The CIMA MRes in Musculoskeletal Ageing
The CIMA MRes in Musculoskeletal Ageing](https://www.cimauk.org/mres) is a unique full-time, 12-month programme which provides multidisciplinary research training on the musculoskeletal system as a whole in the context of ageing. The training has a strong focus on employability, and topics range from basic science to clinical aspects, from in vitro to in vivo models, and from the latest advances in the assessment of the musculoskeletal system to lifestyle interventions. The programme is a collaborative, blended-learning, experience. It employs active learning and authentic assessment e.g. mock MRC grant proposals, to develop research and employability skills. Many of our graduates move onto PhDs but others pursue or continue careers in a variety of professions including medicine, veterinary science, physiotherapy, dentistry.
