I am a Chartered Scientist, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, Higher Education Academy and the Royal Society of Biologists. I am a Member of the Association for Clinical Biochemistry, the Biochemical Society, the American Physiological Society and the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and its British and Irish Chapter

I am a member of the Council of Governors of Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

I am a Member of the Executive Board and Chair of the Scientific Committee of a local research charity, Kidney Research Northwest.
