Research Interest 1
The main research focus of the lab is the better understanding of the viral and host factors associated with HIV-1 transmission and disease progression. The emphasis being on stuyding the genotypic as well as phenotypic properties of the gp120 envelope protein asscoiated with both of the above. More recently we have studied HIV-1 in the context of co-infection with other pathogens, including TB, Helminthic parasites, HPV and HCV.
