Professional Activities

Alongside the clinical and scientific work in Neurology, Antonella is particularly dedicated to Medical Education. Indeed, she has been the co-founder of the Residents and Research Fellows Section of the European Academy of Neurology under the supervision of Prof. Deuschl and Prof. Cock in 2015. This section provides regular seminars, mentorship activities and exchanges programmes among several European Centres. Antonella has been the junior delegate of the EAN Education Committee for two years (2015-2016). She has been associated Editor of the EAN website/EANpage in the period 2015-2020. She became the Editor-in-Chief of the EANpage in the period 2020-2021. She has been Editor-in-Chief of the EAN website for the year 2022.

Antonella is a Member of the Research and Academic Medicine Committee (RAMC) of the Royal College of Physicians. In 2022 she was appointed as Specialty Research Lead Neuro & Degeneration for the NIHR Clinical Research Network North West Coast (CRN NWC) and is currently Associate Clinical Lead for the Research Scholars Programme, NIHR Clinical Research Network North West Coast.

Antonella actively works with national patients' charity to make her expertise available to patients living with movement disorders.
She became Trustee of the Dystonia UK in 2023.

She has been recently appointed as Regional Clinical Lead of the Parkinson’s Excellence Network for the North West Region by the PD UK.
