Professional Activities

Some activities outside the UK include being the past president of the International Society of Infectious Disease (ISID), being an expert member of Singapore's National Centre for Infectious Diseases since 2021 and a member of the Independent Scientific Advisory Board member of the Wellcome Trust Vietnam Major Overseas Programme since 2016. In Europe, activities include serving as a past member of the ERC Advanced grants evaluation panel and being a current expert member on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres since 2020.

Within the UK she is a Director of an NIHR Health Protection Research Unit, the prior Chair of the Fleming Fund’s Technical Advisory Group (Department of Health and Social Care), a former Board Member of the Wellcome Trust’s Surveillance & Epidemiology of Drug-resistant Infections Consortium (SEDRIC) and a former member of the Government Advisory Committee on AMR, Prescribing and HCAIs (APRHAI).
