Her parents were (probably) Thomas Martin (mariner, alive 1822; deceased by 1827) who married Margaret James (who then as widow remarried William Williams mason). All living in the Moylgrove/St Dogmaels area.

Thomas Martin's father (John), brother-in-law (John Lloyd) and niece's husband (Rees Lewis) were also mariners.

In the Cilfowyr Register: expelled Nov 27 1784 Anne Hughes Blaenwaun - adultery (possibly for producing a child - no marriage in the records). Could this be the Anne Martin (age ~16 then)? Note Margaret bp Nov 8 1784 at St Dg so date close. If so Thomas might have been born soon after.

Precis: John Lloyd was Master of the Peggy of Cardigan from 1812-15, Stephen Williams, owner. The petitioner Margaret Lloyd has three children namely John Lloyd aged 11, David Lloyd aged 8 and Elizabeth Lloyd aged 6. Certified entry from St Dogmaels PR: Margaret Lloyd was baptised as Margaret Martin on 8 Nov 1784 daur of John Martin and Ann his wife. Margaret Martin married John Lloyd on 26 Jan 1807.
