Sudeep Pushpakom is a lecturer in pharmacology at the Wolfson Centre for Personalised Medicine and the MRC Centre for Drug Safety Science in the University of Liverpool. Afer undertaking his undergraduate degree in pharmacy and M.Pharm in Pharmacology, Sudeep was successful in obtaining the prestigious Overseas Research Scholarship (Universities UK) and undertook his PhD in the Arthritis Research UK Unit in the University of Manchester in 2005. This was followed by postdoctoral training in pharmacogenetics and drug safety, initially in Manchester (National Genetics Reference Laboratory and St Mary's Hospital) and later at the Wolfson Centre for Personalised Medicine and the Liverpool Biomedical Research Centre. His major focus is in addressing drug-induced cardiometabolic and renal toxicity using in vitro, pharmacogenetic and clinical models.
