About

Rebecca joined the School of Allied Health Professions and Nursing (formerly the School of Health Sciences) in 2019 as the Associate Head for Undergraduate Studies and was appointed Dean of School in December 2023.
Rebecca qualified as a mental health nurse in 1990, specialising in Forensic Mental Health. After a number of years managing a forensic (prison) ward and briefly managing an EMI unit, Rebecca joined the Education Centre in a Mental Health Trust as a trainer/lecturer, before taking up a secondment as a lecturer/practitioner at a local university in 2009. Rebecca has held a number of senior roles within the Higher Education sector but has remained passionate about teaching and improving the student experience.
Rebecca is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE and completed her doctorate in 2023. Her doctoral thesis was about play in the organisational context and how it influences psychological wellbeing. As a qualitative researcher, Rebecca is also a certified LEGO® Serious Play facilitator and has presented her work at both national and international conferences as well as publishing her research. Rebecca is also a reviewer for the journal 'Mental Health Practice'.
Since joining the University of Liverpool Rebecca has led and supported her colleagues to grow the suite of undergraduate programmes to meet the demands of the workforce by supplying highly proficient registrants across the Allied Health Professions and Nursing.
