Teaching Overview
Stephanie is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and currently module coordinates Advanced Public Law. On this module, she delivers lectures and seminars on the contemporary political constitution, and on extra-parliamentary sites of constitutional accountability.
Stephanie also lectures on, and has previously module coordinated Law of the European Union. Her teaching has covered all aspects of the course but, in particular the process of European integration; the formation of the EU's treaties; subsidiarity, proportionality and fundamental rights; and the free movement of goods.
Stephanie lectured for many years on the topic of mens rea on the School's Criminal Law module and also delivered seminars across its syllabus. She delivered a pathway on the School's innovative Law and Social Justice module concerning the rights of non-economically active EU citizens and the rights of those Union citizens convicted of criminal convictions in their host Member States. She has also delivered lectures and seminars on the English Legal Systems modules and tutorials on the Law of Tort.
Stephanie welcomes applications from PhD students across her research areas, but in particular those interested in novel approaches to public law; critical approaches to EU integration, the internal market and Union citizenship; and on fundamental rights.
