About

I am a research associate at NIHR ARC North West Coast, the University of Liverpool. I am the Patient, Public, Community Involvement & Engagement (PPCI&E) research lead, working collaboratively as part of a wider public involvement team, playing a key role in supporting the delivery of research and implementation activities across the ARC NWC to ensure relevance to all parts of the region, particularly those with significant health needs. My role involves developing relationships with the wider ARC NWC research community and work with multiple teams across ARC NWC to ensure a co-ordinated approach to delivering research in the area of public involvement and engagement and co-production of research with the team and the ARC NWC Public Advisers. As a co-investigator on a funded project by the UKRI ESRC and the ARC NWC, we are exploring remote working practices for patient public involvement and engagement in health and social care research – responding to Covid-19 and rising health inequalities. With an aim to explore how we can facilitate and improve doing PPIE in health and social care research, without direct face-to-face contact.

My research interest centres around health services research and the factors that influence individuals experiences, decision-making and more specifically health seeking behaviours and health inequalities. Currently involved in the COVID-LIV research exploring the risk of COVID-19 and the impact of social distancing measures on communities living within the NWC, especially the BAME/Muslim community.
