Shadi is a labour economist whose research explores the intersections of the economics of family, education, and discrimination.

Before joining the University of Liverpool, Shadi completed her PhD in Economics at the London School of Economics under the supervision of Alan Manning, Guy Michaels, and Yona Rubinstein. She also holds an MSc in Economics and a BSc in Physics from Sharif University of Technology.
