Professional Activities
I achieved my ACCA qualification before beginning my teaching career, and was later awarded my fellowship. I have since been involved in an examiner capacity for another of the major accounting bodies, as well as marking professional examinations - this is particularly useful to inform the standards that I employ in both exam-writing and in the marking of in-house university exams, since many of our students progress to external professional examinations, after graduation.
As well as promoting personal development, academic excellence is also a key part of our focus at the University of Liverpool. I play an active role on the online academic integrity committee and chair the online board of examiners on behalf of the Management School.
I enjoy building and sharing knowledge. Recently, I had the honour of presenting a panel discussion at the EOCCS symposium, held at the University of Liverpool, where we explored key skills and lessons to be learned from as we build and develop future online programmes and modules in higher education.
