Rob graduated from the University of Edinburgh, Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in 2018 and worked in mixed animal practice prior to joining the University of Liverpool in 2020. Rob now works at the University Vet Practice, part of the Department of Small Animal Clinical Science, where he teaches final year BVSc students during their primary care clinical rotation.

Rob lectures to third year BVSc students on the topics of small animal dentistry, reproduction and vaccination. Rob has undertaken further postgraduate teaching qualifications and in 2024 successfully completed an MA (Academic Practice) investigating the impact of veterinary professionals attending Schwartz Rounds. In 2023, Rob attained Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a professional achievement that recognises expertise in teaching and learning in higher education

Rob's research interests are in small group teaching, client communication and Schwartz Rounds.
