Research

Rob has research interests in rheology, fluid mechanics, non-Newtonian fluid mechanics and turbulence. He has published widely on both experimental and computational approaches. Recent work has focussed on turbulent drag reduction due to
polymeric additives and superhydrophobic surfaces, purely-elastic instabilities and their effect on mixing, non-Newtonian flow in porous media and constitutive equations for non-Newtonian fluids.

Non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics

Rob Poole has active research in viscoelastic fluid flows and rheology, experimental fluid mechanics for turbulent flows and those involving heat transfer.
