CAVA | Centre for Architecture and the Visual Arts
Prof Koeck is Director of CAVA.Centre for Architecture and the Visual Arts (CAVA)
Richard’s research is situated in Architecture and Design theory and practice, where he provides insight into, and defines new ways of thinking about the representation of and engagement with architectural and urban forms, narratives and creative design practices. His research combines three principle interlocking knowledge domains: space, media and people. Richard’s research is often applied to architectural/urban design, digital heritage, urban advertising and placemaking projects. His work is methodologically underpinned by the use of theories and techniques that bridge analogue and digital culture, including digital film/animations, 3D and holographic capture, digital databases and mapping, spatial and immersive media. He is interested in receiving applications of prospective PhD students in the following areas.
> Film, Digital Media & Architecture
> Locative Media & Spatial Computation
> Creative Design Practice & Digital Placemaking
> Outdoor Advertising and City Branding
