Research

My main research interests revolve around the history and theory of international law and I'm particularly interested in international institutions. At present I am attempting to theorise interwar international administration in economic and social fields, both in terms of the extent to which international administration can be understood as a legal field and the ways in which technocratic administration influenced the theory and practice of international law. Basically, I spend a lot of time reading old books written by dead bureaucrats.
