Research
I have diverse research interest in sedimentology, sequence and seismic stratigraphy, basin analysis, geoloigcal data science, and numerical forward modelling, all using a quantitative approach. My research projects currently include work on carbonate platform dynamics, siliciclastic delta clinoforms and shelves, sediment routing and stratal patterns on deep-water fans, and the development, preservation and methods for robust identification of cyclicity in strata. My main research skills are in statistical analysis and numerical forward modelling, combined with other more traditional aspects of Earth Science like seismic interpretation and outcrop mapping and analysis. I have developed several numerical stratigraphic forward models and quantiative analysis methods, all coded in VB, C, C#, Matlab and Python.
