C19 and C20 British, American and Japanese Architectural History

As an architectural historian, my research interests are in 19th and 20th-century British, American and Japanese architecture, areas in which I have published widely. My current project is a study of the architectural interaction between Japan and the West from the mid-19th century, due be published by Ashgate Publishing. This will be followed by what will be my second book on the California architect Pierre Koenig, this one to be published by the Getty Research Institute. Coincident with these are shorter academic papers on the restoration of Pierre Koenig's Case Study House 21 and the Izumo Grand Shrine Administrative Building, now demolished (see link), as well as two chapters on Japanese architecture for the forthcoming 21st edition of 'Sir Banister Fletcher's A History of Architecture'. For further information on my research activity, please see my list of publications.
