About

I was born and bred in Lahore and completed my Master's degree (with a gold medal award) from University of the Punjab. After working in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry for ~ 5 years, I moved to Japan, and did my PhD in Chemistry, with specialisation in Chemical Biology and Biotechnology, from University of Tokyo in 2005. I further strengthened my research skills and knowledge of developing genetically encoded optical probes for single cells imaging at the Institute of Molecular Sciences in Okazaki, Japan. Japan is an amazing country with a homogenous blend of old and new culture, traditions and technology. At the end of 2007, I came to the UK and joined the Centre for Cell Imaging for investigating the dynamic cellular processes of inflammatory pathways. For the last several years I have been involved in drug discovery & development and translational research at the Liverpool Pancreatitis Research Group. Moreover, I manage state-of-the-art confocal microscopy and also provide training and helping students and researchers for imaging live and fixed cells and tissues for confocal imaging.
