Dr Michelle Tornquist is a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of Liverpool. She was awarded her PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Sussex, and her Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Psychology from California State University Long Beach. Her research interests concern self-regulation – how people direct their thoughts, feelings, and actions to achieve their goals. In particular, her research uses multi-method approaches to examine how people manage their emotions, and whether this translates into improved goal attainment and physical and mental wellbeing.
