About
Megan joined the University of Liverpool in 2019 as Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Manager within the School of Medicine.
As member of the senior management team, Megan is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of TEL in line with the learning, teaching, and assessment strategies of the School. She leads a team of learning technologists, technicians and administrative staff, who provide pedagogic, technical and operational support for a range of technology-enabled activity.
Megan has:
Over 20 years’ experience in the education sector
Over 15 years’ experience supporting TEL in Higher Education
Over 10 years’ experience leading and managing TEL in Higher Education
Prior to joining the School of Medicine, Megan held TEL operational management roles at both the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and at Edge Hill University.
Megan attended Keele University in 1996 to undertake a foundation degree and continued her studies at the University of Derby, graduating with a degree in Geology in 2001. She achieved her PG Cert in Higher Education Teaching and Learning Support with distinction in 2012. Megan is an active member of a range of technology focussed user groups, and was a committee member for the ALTNWESIG (Association for Learning Technology North West England SIG) from 2016-2020. Megan is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and an Associate Member of the Association of Learning Technologists (ALT).
Megan is a member of the MEDED-LEARNING-TECH@JISCMAIL.AC.UK user group, and administers the MEDED-LEARNING-TECH Teams Site for the group.
Megan has a keen interest in: digital accessibility, digital capabilities, technology adoption, user experience (UX) design thinking, project management and operational efficiency.
