I am a Senior Lecturer in Digital Education & Innovation and the Technology Enhanced Learning Lead at the School of Dentistry, University of Liverpool. With extensive experience in the education sector, I have spent years researching, implementing, and evolving technology to enhance both teaching and learning. My expertise ranges from leveraging off-the-shelf solutions to developing custom digital systems tailored to specific educational needs.
My primary focus is clinical education within complex, non-modular programs. Leading a small, multidisciplinary team, I drive initiatives in assessment and feedback technologies and the integration of emerging tools such as Generative AI (GAI), Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR) to support simulation-based learning. I also oversee the management and development of key technology platforms like Canvas and Panopto, while exploring innovative advancements in digital education.
Beyond my leadership in technology-enhanced learning, I also spearhead digital communication skills teaching across the school, equipping students with the digital literacy skills necessary for the modern professional landscape.
Additionally, I currently serve as the Chair of the Association for Learning Technology (ALT) North West Group, fostering collaboration and innovation in digital education across the region.
