Learning & Teaching Support Office provide dedicated School-based support to improve student experience and will work in partnership with the School’s Director of Student Support in helping to manage and implement and assist the on-going development of the pastoral support for Health Sciences students. LTSOs will be one of the main points of contact for students in relation to pastoral matters.
The LTSOs have specific responsibility for:
• Holding drop-in sessions and appointments for students to advise and support on academic and pastoral issues, as necessary and appropriate.
• To signpost students to the various specialist support services within the University and liaise with those services.
• To be one of the main points of contact for students in relation to pastoral matters, and to assist staff within the school in regards pastoral support procedures and systems.
• Provide guidance to students on the Extenuating Circumstances, Extensions & ELP processes.
• Responsible for the administration of Extenuating Circumstances/Extension Requests applications.
• Management of keeping accurate student records on Student Case Recording system.
• Maintaining confidential records.
• School Safeguarding Officers
• Supports the Director of Student Support.
• Co-ordinate school social activities and events involving students.
• Take minutes at Student Progress Panel Hearings
• Point of contact for central University support teams
• Attend networking meetings with Learning and Teaching Support Officers and support teams from across the university
