About
I am a Roman socio-cultural historian, with particular interests in ancient slavery as well as Roman law as a source for approaching Roman society.
Before joining the Department of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology at Liverpool, I was a Teaching and Research Fellow in Roman History and Latin at the University of Edinburgh, following a stint as Lecturer in Roman History at the University of Manchester.
I hold a PhD in Ancient History from the University of Edinburgh, and an MA in Classical Philology as well as a BA in Classics, both from the University of Siena. I was lucky enough to take part in an Erasmus exchange to spend the last semester of my MA at University College London (Department of Greek and Latin), which introduced me to UK academia from a student perspective.
