About
My teaching and research focuses on Shakespeare and other Renaissance dramatists. I specialise in the representation of childhood in Renaissance Drama and am particularly interested in Shakespearean performance histories and the children's acting companies of sixteenth and seventeenth century London. My first monograph, 'Shakespeare's Boys: A Cultural History', was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2014. My current project is a comparative study of child actors in the early modern period and the nineteenth century.
My academic support and feedback hours for Semester 1 2024-25 are: Tuesday 11-12 pm (on campus or online); Thursdays 10-11 (online via MS Teams)
