About

I have been at the University of Liverpool since 2025, previously I was at the University of Sheffield, and the Australian Nuclear Science Technology Organisation (ANSTO). Initially as a materials chemist, with a focus on energy related materials, I now have research interests across the whole energy sector, from generation to delivery, across a range of technologies based predominantly on zero carbon emission, key areas include:

Zero carbon energy generation technologies - nuclear, hydrogen, wind / maritime
Linking energy generation with usage and demand
Policy impacts and their impacts development/implementation of new technologies and practice, such as energy supply, energy for transport etc

I am a Co-Director for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Net Zero Maritime Energy Solutions (N0MES), and the School of Engineering Director for PGR, supporting and overseeing PGR students within the School.
