Professional Activities

I am a member of the British and Irish Orthoptic society (BIOS) and represent the society on any Public Health England, NHS improvement events related to 'Falls' as well setting up a special interest group on 'Falls' within the society for all members to access and join. I was Public Health Lead for BIOS from 2017-2021. Some of the work included development of the UK AHP Public Health Strategy 2019-2024, Public Health Placement expansion project (funded by HEE) and the AHP framework for Social Prescribing. I also set up a network of Orthoptic Public Health Champions across hospital trusts in the UK.

Recently, I was appointed the representative for UK and Ireland on the International Orthopitc Association. In this role I have been assigned program co-ordinator for the Education and Reaserch group. I am responsible for promoting clincial research in orthoptics and vision care and develop minimum universal standards for orthoptic education.
