About
I began my career with horses working in Germany as head girl for a German team rider for a number of years, the role included driving the horsebox all over Germany and grooming for the young rider and her team of horses, breaking in the homebred young horses that were either sold or kept to compete and I competed my own horse whilst I was working there.
From here I worked on an Olympic eventing yard in the UK, looking after horses from Novice level to 5 star level.
I evented my own horses internationally up to advanced level and I completed two 3 star events (now classed as 4 star) on a great little 15.2 horse called Ballinvella who was much braver than I was!
Following this I ran a local livery yard and I was also working at the same time as an NVQ level 3 assessor as the yard team were training for their NVQ exams.
I had a 2 year break from working with horses (not from riding) and worked as a cabin crew and was very lucky to be trained on an AIRBUS A330 on which we only flew long haul so I visited a lot of countries in the 2 years.
I have now worked for the university of Liverpool in the DECS for over 20 years, My role is the Yard technicians team leader, overseeing the day to day running of the yard and a team of 9 technicians I also perform MRI scans on our patients. During my time here I have had the privilege of being able to travel to Hong Kong to groom for a friend who was on the Irish eventing team at the Beijing Olympics. I was also lucky enough to be able to attend the London Olympics working as a vet technician.
I have my own horse who is my pride and joy, he is a rising 6 year old15.3 Dun Connemara gelding who I would like to compete British dressage with and generally just enjoy.
