About

My research is focussed on anthelmintic resistance in helminth parasites of livestock and companion animals. I use genetic and genomic tools to understand the underlying mechanism of triclabendazole resistance in the liver fluke, Fasciola hepatica, so that we can more effectively control the parasite in future. Throughout my career I have maintained and interest on drug resistance in equine parasites and I am currently working with stakeholders to generate best practice guidlines for horse owners, vets and other anthelmintic prescribers. All of this reserach feeds into my teaching of the BVSc students here at Liverpool, enabling me to teach with passion and authority about veterinary parastitology.
