About
My background is in TESOL and Applied Linguistics. For the last twenty years, I have taught at a number of educational institutions in Poland and across the UK, spanning secondary education, foundation courses, undegraduate and postgraduate level. I have mainly delivered courses/modules in English as a Second/Foreign Language, English Phonetics, Sociolinguistics, and English for Academic Purposes. As a researcher, I am mainly interested in Second Language Acquisition, Phonetics and Sociolinguistics; my PhD thesis investigated socially-conditioned phonetic variation in L2 English of Polish migrants living in the UK. My other interests include reading (fantasy, mythology, psychology), listening to and making and recording music (mainly traditional, medieval, prog, metal), board games, roleplaying games (pen and paper as well as some PC games), photography and hiking.
