About

I am a Senior Data scientist/Bioinformatician with a strong interest in developing and applying new computational approaches to biomedical data to drive hypothesis generation. My past research has focused on musculoskeletal diseases such as osteoarthritis, including using machine learning to identify subgroups and biomarkers of the disease.

I have developed bioinformatics pipelines to process hundreds of transcriptomics datasets and have developed an online molecular knowledge base of osteoarthritis, OATargets, that integrates much of the molecular knowledge of osteoarthritis from human genetics, in vivo models and transcriptomics.

More broadly, I have developed an open-source network based algorithm PhenomeScape to help interpret transcriptomics data through inclusion of animal model phenotypes.

I enjoy learning new areas of biology and am excited by the potential of emerging technologies such as single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics that I am current applying to new projects.
