About
James Jones is a practicing architect as partner in the Manchester studio of Sheppard Robson. Within the practice he is a member of the Design Review Group and leads on multiple school, college and university projects. His designs have won awards in both sustainability (e.g. BREEAM Building of the Year) and within the education sector (e.g. Education Estates School Building of the Year).
He has taught in the Liverpool School of Architecture for 18 years in both BA and MArch studio, currently teaching in MArch 4th and 5th years. He has collaborated with Dr Marco Iuliano, as exhibition designer and co-curator, on a series of exhibitions on the work of the office of Stirling + Wilford in Liverpool, Rome, Milan and Dublin. In the overlap between his academic work and work in practice James is collaborator on a number of research projects at Liverpool, Manchester Metropolitan and Loughborough universities, all connected with promotion of sustainable processes and technologies in contemporary practice.
