Jacqueline Waldock is a Lecturer in Music and Faculty Impact Fellow. She is a researcher with a specialism in sonic studies. Her research interests have centred around home, sonic place making and listening cultures, particular focussing on sound control and power. She has a particular interest in the role of sound and music in the health care settings and wellbeing. Prior to taking up her role in academic her career trajectory led her into the realm of consultancy and artistic work, specializing in community-engaged place-making practices. This path was marked by the production of several publicly funded artworks and compositions.Her compositions and sound installations have been based within urban communities and have been part of work with the Halle Orchestra, Foundation of Art and Creative Technology, Horsfall, Manchester City Art Gallery, the Tate amongst others.
