About

I have been supervising doctoral students in the EdD since 2017 and have been a viva examiner for several years now.

With over twenty-three years of research and teaching experience in higher education (HE), including working at various European universities, I have developed expertise in HE Pedagogy, Doctoral Supervision, and Professional Development and Learning.

My research focuses on understanding how staff and students engage in learning and teaching in HE. I investigate the efforts made by institutions, departments, and individual educators to enhance the quality of teaching, learning, and supervision in different modes of delivery - blended and hybrid learning, face-to-face and distance education. Additionally, I evaluate the impact of professional development initiatives for academics. More recently, I have been engaged in funded projects focused on microcredentials for enhancing the professional development of teachers and AI for supporting teaching and learning in HE.

I'm a Senior Fellow of the Advance HE.
