I Gusti Ngurah Edi Putra (nickname: Edi, pronounced 'Eddy') is a Research Associate in the Department of Public Health, Policy and Systems at the Institute of Population Health, University of Liverpool, UK. He is currently working on his NIHR DSE funded fellowship project on modelling the impacts of food-related policies or interventions. Previously, he worked on a project related to the psychological basis of obesity (e.g., see The Guardian, BBC) in the Department of Psychology. Before joining the University of Liverpool, he completed a PhD and worked as a research assistant at the University of Wollongong, Australia, where he conducted research on built environments (e.g., green space) and health. His research interests include, but are not limited to, social and environmental epidemiology, social determinants of health, and social inequalities in health. Much of his work involves large-scale longitudinal datasets (e.g., Longitudinal Study of Australian Children, Growing Up in Ireland Study, British birth cohort studies (MCS, BCS, NCDS), English Longitudinal Study of Ageing, Health and Retirement Study).
