About
Dr. Guijie Sang joined the University of Liverpool as a Lecturer in 2024. Guijie worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow) for around 4 years after obtaining his PhD degree from Pennsylvania State University (USA) in 2020.
Guijie is a cross-disciplinary researcher in Geotechnical Engineering, Rock Mechanics, and Microbiology. His research focuses on advancing the understanding of coupled Hydraulic-Mechanical-Chemical-Microbiological (HMCM) processes in near-surface and subsurface engineering contexts. Guijie is interested in developing innovative, environmentally sustainable, and industrially applicable approaches to (1) enhance civil and geotechnical infrastructure resilience and (2) support geo-energy projects to meet the UK’s net zero targets.
