Ancient Egyptian Funerary Culture
The material culture and funerary practices of the provincial elite during the Old to Middle Kingdoms is a focus of research, and has involved fieldwork at the site of Deir el-Bersheh in Middle Egypt, as a member of the team of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
Provincial Administration
Governance of the Upper Egyptian provinces during the Old to Middle Kingdoms. This draws together inscriptions and pictorial representations in the tombs of the local elite, in context with their local landscape, both man-made and ecological.
